Not my area of expertise, but an interesting argument to think about.

To me, ADHD is a real disease and it has to be treated seriously. To some of Chinese parents, ADHD is just that children do not behave properly and they can not focus on doing one task at one time. Parents treat their children as normal. However, when their children do not listen to parents, children will be punished so that they focus on what their parents want them to focus on. I have to admit sometimes it works very well, but scientifically, punishment should not be the way to treat children with ADHD. If ADHD is not a real disease, teachers and parents' edification should be working. But why can punishment only work for once while medication and treatment work for a long period of time?
